On 24th and 25th August, we will be hosting an outdoor summer cinema mini-season. Held in our picturesque grounds, the charming screenings are organised in collaboration with outdoor cinema specialists LUNA FLIX, who will provide a large high-quality screen to ensure that all guests have a great view. Popcorn, hotdogs and a bar serving beer and gin will also be available on the day.
Seating is not provided, so guests should bring their own picnic blankets and deck chairs. Although we’re hoping for a balmy summer evening, we also encourage guests to bring an extra jacket just in case.
The opening night on 24th August, we are excited to be showing one of the biggest big screen hits of 2018 – Bohemian Rhapsody, which tells the story of the legendary rock band Queen and charismatic frontman Freddie Mercury, leading up to the band’s famous performance at Live Aid in 1985.
Since its release at the back end of last year, Bohemian Rhapsody has gone on to set a box office record for the highest-grossing biographical film of all time; while the film’s star Rami Malek picked up a Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of Mercury.
Guidance advice and timings: this film is rated 12A. The event starts at 7pm, with the screening scheduled to begin at 8:40pm for an 11:05pm finish.
The following day, we will put on a free showing of The Dish, a heart-warming historical comedy that recounts the story of a remote Australian community, populated by quirky characters, that plays an unlikely but pivotal role in the first Apollo moon landing.
Guidance Advice and timings: this film is rated 12A. The event starts at 7pm, with the screening scheduled to begin at 8:40pm and finish at around 10:20pm.
