Owner & Managing Director

Raj Regmi

I am excited to have taken over here at Woodland and look forward to the future of the Manor as we update the hotel and grow the business. I have vast industry experience and own two similar businesses in Peterborough: Ferry Meadows Café and Lakeside Kitchen & Bar. Along with Woodland Manor, these venues form part of Meadow Brown Restaurants, the family-run business I own with my wife Neera and two beautiful boys, Aayush and Rohan.

I have been part of the Woodland team for 17 years and counting, during which time I have made some great friendships. I help with almost every area of the business – hence my nickname the Oracle!

I have been at Woodland for just over four years, I started in food and beverage. I love organising our clients’ special occasions and being their point of contact. I get great satisfaction from seeing an event through from start to finish.

Chris Jones

I work in the kitchen cooking your hearty breakfast to set you up for the day. I recommend our new menu, which is delicious – especially the mouth-watering scrambled eggs and omelettes. Nothing a guest asks is too much trouble as I am here to oblige.

Head of Housekeeping

Carol Jones

I am Head Housekeeper and have worked here for 13 years. I have a team of seven, each one of whom I am extremely proud of. We are a happy team and all love cleaning and looking after guests to our utter best. We all have different characters but get on brilliantly and are like a little family with lots of stories to tell from over the years.

We really enjoy working alongside the amazing wildlife that calls Woodland Manor home. We used to have a peacock roaming around our beautiful grounds and, more recently, a pheasant, who we named George and fed porridge oats every day. We also have squirrels, woodpeckers and muntjac deer, which are very shy but wonderful on the rare occasions you get to see them.

Sharon Wingrave Jones

I love cleaning, especially bathrooms – which look fantastic once they are sparkling after a fresh clean. I feel like part of the family and have worked at Woodland Manor for 20 years. Sometimes I think I would rather be working here daily than be at home. If you come to visit our beautiful hotel you may never want to leave!

Wendy Marshall

I help maintain the rooms that our guests stay in. Woodland Manor has a friendly, warm atmosphere and nothing is a problem for any of the staff – we’re always happy to our guests in any way that we can.

I have worked at Woodland Manor for two years and am part of the housekeeping team. I first worked here in 2010 before leaving to raise my family. I decided to come back because it’s such a lovely, friendly place to work where the staff are a close-knit family.

I have not been here long but already I feel I want to work here forever. Even though I’m the only male on the housekeeping team, I really enjoy working with all the girls. I was shy at first but they made me feel at home and relaxed. We have a great team spirit and I really enjoy my work, singing along as I go.

I joined Woodland Manor in 2015 whilst studying at university, working part time in the bar. I have expanded my knowledge in the business by learning the reception/customer service side, and have recently been promoted to reception supervisor. One of the great things about working here is having enough freedom to really listen to what each customer needs and then being able to offer a solution that is really specific to the situation. I’ve learnt so much, and I have acquired so many new skills. What I also learnt, perhaps most importantly, is that some companies actually care about their customers and their employees.

I have worked at Woodland Manor for nearly seven years now, and I love what I do. I started as a front of house waitress, did a couple of months in housekeeping to help out and then ran the bar, which included some very late nights. Now, as a breakfast waitress, I start at 6:30am. I love chatting to customers and hope I bring a bit of sunshine to their early mornings.
